Coochbehar Shishu Kishore Sanstha
Observance of birth anniversaries and other festivals
Every year birth anniversary of great personalities, Vijaya Samelani, Vernal festival of colors, Viswa Natya Divas, etc. are observed with due importance to spread value-education among the children.
Contribution during Covid-19
The children and adolescents who are in distressed condition and cannot study online, we will deliver study material and nutrient food to them. For the regular study, we will engage some volunteers. For the children and adolescents whose guardian or parents have lost their job due to covid-19, we will deliver food, medical kits, and clothes.
Chhotoder Theatre School
It is the mission of our minds that draws us to such activists. Every one of us want to build an environment of joy and beauty for our children. But it is not an easy task,especially for a pair of parents. Since 2008, this school runs regularly on Saturday & Sunday every week, from 3.30 to 5.30 pm.At first we felt the need of a play ground & two rooms for this purpose. Then we approached the local municipality chairman to have such a place. And we are very grateful to mention here that the then hon’ble Chairman graced us to use two rooms & ground of the Nivedita Academy for use of this Drama School for children,and they learn here free of cost.Drama,Dance,Recitation, Art and several parts of literature training here by eminent teachers. Sahitya Kala Utsav
During the last thirteen years, we are holding this unique festival in the district. Children upto eighteen years participate in the deferent items of this festival -such as drawing, composing rhym and poems, writing stories and essays on different subjects and quiz competition. Every year about many hundreds of students from different schools of the district participate in this festival. The best performers are encouraged with prize and plaque and their performance is highlighted in the literary magazine “SABUJMON”.
Debate, Deliberation and workshop
Workshop for the children on drama, debate and deliberation is held every year on drawing, dance, play-acting, recitation and even composing basic literary items with the help of experts from these fields.
Nature study camps
Nature study camps are also held yearly where the children and their parents enjoy the whole day in a picnic spirit in the lap of nature.
Film and drama festival
We also hold children’s film and drama festival with productions of our own “Chhotoder Theatre School” and also from our guest produces from over Bengal and the Film Society of Cooch Behar.
